Recent History

Even though the Adventure closed for mining, the story has not ended.

Since the 1970's, the Adventure has been open on and off for tours. Jack and Margaret Neph purchased Adventure Mine in 1972 and began giving tours in 1973 and continued until the mid 1980's. Their son, John Neph and his wife Winnie began tours here in the late 1990's and stopped in 2003.

The current owners purchased the mine in 2004 and opened it for tours in 2005. They have expanded tours to include the Prospector's Tour and Miner's Tour.

The current Adventure Mine Owners: Matthew, Victoria, and Eleanor Portfleet.

In 2010, an addition to the gift shop was added. For the most frequent updates on the Adventure Mine, visit our Facebook page.
